Re: How do I post pics?????

First, you have to download the pictures to your computer. The camera will usually put them in some place like "my pictures" under "my documents" in the "C" drive. After they are on your computer, just get on here and post as usual. When you get your text block up there, look up above where you type in your info and you'll see a liitle paper clip. Click on the little paper clip, then pick "browse" and then go to your pictures in the "c" drive under "my documents" under "my pictures" and double click on the picture and then select "upload" to upload the picture. It will take it a second or two and then it will show that it is loaded. Then click "close this window" at the upper right and type what ever you want to, to go with the picture, and then hit "submit reply". Now there is a whole lot of stuff that could go wrong with this, but generally that is how it works...for me anyway.

I'm not a computer expert by any means, but I saw that no one else has responded to help you, and I hate it when that happens to me, so I thought I'd try to help.

Re: How do I post pics?????

What about posting .wmv files ?

Any way to do that one as a direct post, or a link to a .wmv file ?

Upload it to another place, then supply the link here.
The max attachment size on the board is only 100kb, which is smaller than a .wmv is going to be.

Re: How do I post pics?????

Orange you beat me to it... nice post by the way!

Sidenote... Orange is there away you could add on there about the managing attachments at the bottom of the page? On my new laptop, it wouldn't allow me to upload pictures by using the paperclip up top, I actually have to scroll to the bottom of the page and then click on Manage Attachments. Just a thought, in case anyone else might have this problem. Unless I'm the only one...

Re: How do I post pics?????

I think he means uploading it to another website, just as CarDomain's video website.

Don't worry... I haven't quite figured it out either.

Well, I suppose, but that just add's another spot for something to go wrong. Honestly, there could be an issue on someone else's machine that doesn't allow them to use the Manage Attachments at the bottom.

My best guess is that it's a Temporary Internet Files issues. If you don't clean them out regularly, you might want to try. If you aren't sure how, just ask, and I'll try to walk you through it. Just say what browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape...)

There are tons of places that allow you to host free files. Video files you can of course do on YouTube, or other various places across the net. Or, if you want, you can always buy you a little chunk of the internet (a domain name) and have your own reserved space and put up whatever you want on it.

Uploading is just like downloading, only reversed. Depending on what site you are using, they will have a specific way to do it. That is, unless you are uploading to "blank space". But that's a whole different topic.

Find you a good place that will host whatever you are wanting to host (like Photobucket.com for pictures), register, and poke around. You'll figure it out.
That's how I figured out this stuff. Remember, if you screw it up - there's GOOGLE! And even if you want to know more - there's GOOGLE!

BTW - If something don't make sense in this post - I blame my home keyboard. It's wireless, and doesn't keep up with me, so I have to either slow down, or back up a lot. I ain't slowing down...so.
