Question 6 lug wheels, chrome, aluminum or steel?

It is looking like I need at least 2 new wheels on my big blue rusty '65 lwb stepside, so I am debating between getting new stock type steel wheels painting 'em black and keep it like it is with the bowtie baby moons...

...or getting new shiny wheels to look really out of place.

15"x5" - 6 lug wheels <- I have the stock type 6 lug steel 15 inche diameter wheels on there now... I THINK that is the right size, based on a truck parts vendor catalog.

Current Tire Size = P255/70R15 uniroyal gts

I kinda like those 6 lug American Racing Outlaw II wheels... but I've heard bad things about trying to keep aluminum clean and shiny.

Anyway, I thought I'd check with you guys and see what ya'll are running.

I have 6 lug wheels, with drums all the way around.

pics of my current 5 wheels...

Thanks folks,

-W

I have some American Eagle rims, polished alum. They are a pita to keep clean. I would go chrome.

Re: 6 lug wheels, chrome, aluminum or steel?

Question on the 6lugers on our trucks. Are the newer chevy 2wd 6lug rims the same bolt patern? I have seen some nice factory 17" plus size rims that might look good on our trucks. As far as keeping them cleen I sware by Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel cleaner. My wife has an 07 SS trailblazer with factory SS 20" aluminum rims and the fronts get so bad so quick from the big brakes. I just take this stuff, spray it on and wipe it down with a soft wheel brush, rinse and they look great. It cuts thru brake dust and road grime like nothing I have ever used in the last 20yrs of driving.

yes they are the same 6 on 5.5. you have to watch the center hole diameter and back-spacing. newer wheels have more back-spacing

Me too, kinda hate to change to 5 lug.

I do have a set of Ansen Sprints that will fit, but tri-rib Radirs are calling my name.

I like the 15x8" steelies for your truck. Check the link below...

These look great with dog dish caps on them.

I'm not sure what make these are, they were put on by the PO. But they're 16" six lug. LoPro 16's tires are gettin' pretty cheap nowdays.
