I have a 6cyl tach, the 4 grand version, and was wondering what its worth? Bezel is broke on the corner but everything else is ok.

Re: Wiw
The 4 grand version is a diesel tach. It would be a direct drive on the back. 6cyl tachs also went to 5 grand and used the same plug as the v-8 tachs. A diesel tach head will bring $30 to $75. Have seen a few on e-bay recently.

Re: Wiw
It is stamped 6 cyl on the back of the tach. It came out of a 68 CST with a 292 in it.

Re: Wiw
Then it sounds like the lens may have been changed. Then it all depends on condition and if it works. I would say $175-$350. Price varies with bezel, printed circuit, rust on the gauges etc... Hope this helps. Post pics of the front and back if you can...

Re: Wiw
Just the tach, tach & lense,or complete dash?I`d say maybe a bit more than the same item(s)for V8.It`s one of thosefairly rare, yet not as in demand pieces. To the right guy,it could bring a good bit more than a V8 tach.
That said,I`d like to get one since I`m looking for a 292 to build.I wouldn`t pay crazy money, though.I can be patient. If you are thinking to sell and come up with a price, could you give me a shot at it?Thanks.

Re: Wiw
Yup looks like a v-6 tach, probably should be worth about $150 or so.

Re: Wiw
I`m wondering what going on here.Does it have an air/4,000 rpm tach lense from another truck? These guys are suggesting it`s a diesel or V6 tach because of the low rpm.The 250/292s would rev higher and it appears there no provision for an air gauge.Just "air" on the lense.I want it but need to make sure I can use it with a 292.I hope I`m not cobbling the thread. It just appears that the p.o. mix-matched some stuff here.I could be wrong.I`d like to know and I`m sure you would to.
The lense is from a medium duty and the bezel isn`t.Since the air gauge isn`t in the panel I`m assuming that tach isn`t from the medium duty.Is there a part#?I can look it up.

Re: Wiw
My opinoin, the lens has been changed from a bigger diesel truck. If it is stamped 6 cyl on back of the tach head it is for a v-6 or straight 6. A diesel tach hooks up like a speedo. To the best of my knowledge, it should be a 5K tach if V-8, or 6 cyl.
Now, if someone doesn't want the lens, i would be interested in that.
