Question Differences from 1967-1972

Hey everyone as most of you know I'm in the Marine Corps. I do intelligence which is basically briefing through powerpoint the officers as to what the bad guys are doing. I am teaching all my younger Marines how to become good briefers and one of the ways we do this is to make "fun" briefs they can give on whatever they want. I'm starting off, being the senior guy I figure it's my part to show them the way. I am going to give one on the 67-72 Chevy pickup haha a passion close to all of our hearts. I was wanting a rundown of the major differences from 1967-1972. For all the years in between; example major diffs between 67-68 68-69 and so on. If you guys could help it would be greatly appreciated plus I'm putting pics so if you wanna throw in truck pics for me that'd be appreciated thanks

Can I ask a question about your area of expertise? Are Calvin Kleins that much better than Fruit of the Loom?

Re: Differences from 1967-1972

That link pretty much covers the appearance of the Chevys, now for the GMC's (broke down a little finer).

1967: Had the sloped hood and no markers as well as the availability of a small and large rear window. The 67's had unique vertical louved type fender badge and no letters on the hood, they were embossed in the grill. The ignition switch, vent pulls, vent glass locks, rear view mirror and lighter were all unique to '67. GMC's were available were all of engines from the Chevy lineup, and also had the availability of the a 305 and 351 cu in V6.

1968: Had the sloped hood and but goverment mandated side markers were standard and the availability of the small window was dropped. The fender badges were changed and there no letters on the grill, they were now on the hood. The ignition switch, vent pulls, vent glass locks, rear view mirror and lighter were all changed and would remain that way until the end of the era. The availability of the 396 BBC was added to the lineup.

1969: Had the steep angled hood and wide chrome grill surrounds were added. Slight interior changes were made including the availability of std bucket seats with a console and the dropped the availability of buddy buckets. The hubcaps changed and the nutty caps were introduced. The rear tail light trim was cahnged on deluxe models and the tailgate band was available. The lower trim was changed, and the the upper side trim was available. The steering wheels were also changed from the 67-68 style. The E brake was now a foot pedal instead of the pull handle.

1970: Basically the same as '69, but the availability of the V6's were discontinued, but could still be dealer installed. The 396 was replaced by the 402 (badged 400).

1971: Had the steep angled hood and and a new grill with black inserts along with the wide chrome grill surrounds were added. '71 was the first year for disc brakes and cable operated gas pedal. The Sierra Grande option available with wood grain interior trim and exterior trim

1972: Basically the same as '71, but plastic door panels with integrated armrests replaced the metal door panels and the rear view mirror was added. The Sierra Grande option was available with wood grain glove box door and door panel accents.

I know I'm forgetting some stuff, so anybody feel free to add to this list, and I'll edit my post accordingly.
