Keep original or not ?

I have a 72 4x4 that has a 350 stroker motor in it and no body,I bought it and literally threw the body away,It was trashed. I have rebuilt the motor and frame,I kept the title and vin plate with the idea of finding another truck to put on this frame.I also have a 67 2wd with 93,000 miles with a 283 powerglide trans. It is in great shape, just had rockers and cab corners welded in. Should I put this body on the 72 or restore both trucks, keep in mind that the 4wd is ready to go,just needs a body, and the 67 will need some tlc, it is very hard to find a decent cab around here and I don't have a lot of $.What I really want is the 67 4wd but I am concerned about resale value due to it not being originally 4WD. What do you think ? Thanks for the opinion.

guess it depends on what group you belong too, hahah. im the orginal type. seems to me these days everyone has a custom this and that. i think orginal is the classy way to go. in the end though its up to you and what makes you smile.

67 4x4s IMO are the nicest looking, they are very clean, id switch it to a 4x4, then you got one nice ride, disk brakes.. etc..

I would switch the body over to the 4x4. It shouldn't hurt the value to much, since you have the title and vin. You could still make a stock looking truck out of it. I took a 71 1/2t 4x4 chassis and put a nice 68 body on it, sold it to BLAZERMAN.

I am leaning towards putting the 67 body on the 72.I already have it off ready for paint,If it had a big back window I could title it as a 72,just has a 67 front end...but I guess if I do it I will leave it as a 67.

Trucks are never going to have the same kind of numbers matching collector status that say a Corvette will. A nice truck will fetch nice truck $ regardless. And around here, 4x4 are worth at least double what a 2x4 is unless something like a 72 SWB Super. Swap it if that is what you want. Build it the way you want and to heck with everybody else.
