Need a Mechanics Advice
I have a new rebuilt 350. I am having oil drip from the top of the dip stick tube and run down dripping onto my headers. When I pull the dip stick out, all I can see is vapors coming out. My guess is the vapors are collecting and then dripping. What would cause this? I am running an Edlebrock and have the PCV in the center port of the carb and am vented on the passenger side with a good quality vented oil cap. Any help is appreciated.

are you sure the rings are good/installed right, were they filed fit, sounds like you are building pressure in the crankcase. do you have a pcv valve

check the vacuum lines including the pcv.. the engine runs well? check the piston compression with a gauge.. to check valves and rings

OK this may sound stupid... but it happened to me once. I bought a used vehicle that the PO had installed chrome valve covers on. I was checking things over when to my surprise I find that the grommets for the PCV valve and breather cap do NOT have a slot or hole in them, their just a big ole' plug. No way for air to get in and no way for the pressure to vent properly. Anyway take a look at them and see if that is the case.
