1970 Truck Bucket Seat Brackets

Hi all!
I need to tap into the wealth of knowledge on this board. I recently
got bucket seats from a 70 Blazer and it came with the Blazer seat tracks. However, after reading many threads on here, and setting the seats into the cab of my truck, I am now convinced that the Blazer seat brackets are about 3 to 4 inches too tall. And I know how rare the actual truck bucket tracks are.

I got the aftermarket seat brackets for the passenger side. They are lower than the blazer brackets when compared. I did set the seat with the aftermarket stationary brackets into the driver position and it seems to sit about the right height.

My real question is has anyone used the stationary passenger brackets on both sides? I have the gas tank in the cab and do not intend on changing its location.

So, if the seats are mounted in a location that works for my reach, should I just use the aftermarket stationary brackets?

Or, are there any mods that can be made to the blazer driver brackets to make them fit correctly?

Any help, ideas, or wisdom would be GREATLY appreciated.

Richard

Re: 1970 Truck Bucket Brackets

oops, I think I meant to post this on the Truck forum. Is there a way to move the thread? Should I repost this thread there?

Re: 1970 Truck Bucket Brackets

Blazer brackets should be the same height as the truck brackets. The only difference between Blazer and truck seat brackets is the passenger side tilts forward on the blazer where it is stationary on the truck. I would guess that either the seats or maybe just the brackets you got are not correct 70 brackets.
