Need advice on where to get pinion seal and crush sleeve.

The local chevy parts house and auto parts stores don't have em.
It's a 1968 12 bolt.

use the original crush sleeve and LOCKTITE. the new crush sleeve is a b&tch to try to crush, if you cant live without a new one i would have someone else install it so you can blame them if something goes wrong. just my .02

Re: Need advice on where to get pinion seal and crush sleeve.

If you are simply replacing the pinion seal, you should be fine with your original crush sleeve by marking where the pinion nut is to the yoke and the pinion shaft. Count the number of turns to take off the pinion nut and make sure to put it back on in exactly the same position.

If you need a new crush sleeve, I believe summitracing.com has them. The dealership should have them as well...try another dealership.

Re: Need advice on where to get pinion seal and crush sleeve.

NEVER re-use a crush sleeve !yes , its a pain to crush it ,and you only get the one chance , go too far and its off to try another one .its needs to be done right , there is important bearing preload . 12 bolt uses its own , napa has them in their balkamp help line as the normal "help" section in other stores . if not summit and jegs both have them in richmond and ra-tech , and course there is randy's ring and pinion
