Re: I would like to do this one day

Ive never been a fan of single cab duallies, im with tvblazer, its one of those things that are nice becuase they are unique, but at the same time its not appealing to waht id do.

Now, a dually suburban i could see myself doing, if i did a dually, im a single wheel kinda guy.

Looks like it needs a huge pennie in the back so it could ride a wheelie!

Re: I would like to do this one day

1974k5, the ebay ad said he used a 1991 tub put the 75 tags on it and drive train was from a 78 1 ton 3+3. id be more ticked about killing a 4x4 3+3 than full top or 3/4 top

It would look like this................. (confession time: DW emailed me several days ago with the question so I did a quick Photoshop for him, but I only stumbled across this thread just now...)
My suggestion was to go hog wild and put a C-60 front clip on it... 2nd pic is from a ck5.com build thread where the guy double stacked frames to lift the whole thing.

Re: I would like to do this one day

Ya' know, I couldn't think of a single application that the dually under a Blazer would be useful. But now I do!
Maybe not so much lift though?

I think its cool in its own way, but not something I would have any interest in doing or owning; except maybe as a Chalet...

Re: I would like to do this one day

The idea behind the dually is stability with the chalet. As soon as i finish all the suspension repairs and upgrades on my 06 Dmax i will start playing with the chalewt prior to the frame off as to have the issue cured before the resto process begins.

I figure the first thing i'll do is try and move the rear spring hanger back to accept the 56" 3/4 ton and 1 ton springs and then insert a front dana 60 (king pins vs. ball joints) and a 14B FF in the rear which allows me to go to
a 16 wheel and get a better sidewall rating on the tires as one is limited with
15's. If this doesn't work making the rear 14B FF should be rather easy....
