Question Dropped Spindles

I have 2" coils on the front and 2" coils on the rear with about a 1 and a 1/2 shim also. I of course want to go lower. I think that the safest thing is to use drop spindles on the front and 5" coils in the rear. Does anyone know of a good company to get spindles. I have found plenty but what I want is just a 2" drop and not 2.5". I want it low but not too low. I found a set from performance suspension. Any recommendations? I shouldn't need a C notch should I?

Re: Dropped Spindles

Spindles will be 2.5". Check with Belltech, McGaughy's, or ECE. You'll never notice that 1/2 inch. No C-notch needed. But you can always install one later,... in case you haul some heavy loads in the future.

Re: Dropped Spindles

i wasn't too sure if that .5" was a big deal. with 4.5 and 6 in the rear totla that should still be pretty level right? I know cpp has a bad @$$ trac bar what is the opinion on that thing. I have an adjustable one already. Should i need to relocate the shocks or anything?

Re: Dropped Spindles

I'm gonna go with Belltech 2.5" drop spindles. I currently have 3" drop springs in the front. I may have change those after the new spindles - depending on the ride. I have no inner wheel wells, so there's allot of clearance. In the back, I have 6" drop coils a Super Track Bar from ECE and NO C-notch. Next step would be to bag it, then we'll go with a C-notch.

Re: Dropped Spindles

I like the stuff from ECE. You'll need the Super Track Bar, shock relocators, and drop shocks for the rear. ECE will fix you up.

Re: Dropped Spindles

Just make sure you get spindles from an American manufacturer, such as Western, ECE, McGaughys...

Re: Dropped Spindles

I agree with the rest of the posts, ECE (Early Classic Enterprises) makes great products, and stands by them.

Re: Dropped Spindles

Can't wait to see those pics, and good luck on the build!

Sounds like you need to start your own build thread....

Re: Dropped Spindles

I will be buying a Drop Spindle/Disk brake kit very soon....I have looked at ECE and GMCpauls...both "claim" to have complete kits...yet ECE's kit is several hundred dollars more...I can't bring myself to buy it from them no matter how good the customer service is for several hundred dollars more. GMCpauls has good customer service in my dealings with them...

Does the one from GMCPauls come with everything that the ECE does? Cuz it sure looks like ECE hooks you up pretty good on a disc brake conversion by supplying everything including pads, banjo bolts, lines, hoses etc... Filling in the missing pieces on a job like this can add up to serious bucks real quick.

I'm curious about this.... has anyone ever had experiences with this?

I know that some people have had issues when receiving their part, and customer satisfaction. I've never had any experiences with them, but check out the review part of the board, and I think you'll find plenty of information to answer your question.

Re: Dropped Spindles

My kit was complete from GMCPauls except I had to buy a MC and prop valve locally. I love it!
