What's it worth?

Ok, another pricing question. Came across a very clean 87 swb stepside Silverado. V8, auto, pw, cruise, air, new brakes, tires, wheels, shocks, dual exhaust, low miles. Only negative so far is the GD sunroof someone put in (why do people do that!!!). Anyway he is asking around 2800. Sound right?

$2800.00 sounds like a good deal, as long as it's not rusted out. Like you, I think the sun roof sucks. This hurts the price in my eyes some.

I see you are in NJ, so I'm guessing rust is a big problem up there. Has it been painted recently. If so, I would check real good for rust or bondo.

I would of stoped looking after I saw the sun roof. I personaly don't care for them on trucks and for good reason. They just don't look right but thats just my opion.

Thanks for the feedback. One more question I forgot to ask - the truck has TBI on it. Was that standard on 87 305's ?

Thanks again.

Yep. All trucks from 87 through 95 got it. This is a good thing for some people, but I personally don't like it. It's a 305 huh? Another strike against it for me.

You know I just thought of something
What got me started with these trucks was my first vehicle. I bought it at a dealer in NJ when we lived there and I was 15. We had recently had a bad accident and totaled my Grandfathers ElCamino that was perfect and soon to be mine.

I bought my 87 GMC Sierra Classic Minus pwr locks/windows with a 350 and 700R4 with only 17k miles on it in 1990. It was sooooo perfect and ran great!
I had that truck for about a year and then sold it. .... never should have. About a year later....I tried to buy it back from the old man I sold it to but he was in love with it and wouldnt sell it.
guess that is where my love of these trucks began.
