A couple oddball questions....

1.) I am going to use a good 63 wiring harness that I have. the guage cluster is missing, so I don't know if it had a deluxe, or basic cluster.
Is there a way to tell what it had?
I plan on buying , and using the deluxe version, what would I have to change, if my harness is for a basic cluster?

2.) Why were the cab mounts riveted to the frame?
I am going to use the mounts, but they are going on a passenger car frame for my radical 60 build.
Will I run into problems welding them to the frame?

Re: A couple oddball questions....

dunno about the harness
but i believe rivets were used for ease of assembly on the line back then, don't see why welding would be an issue

All the cab mounts I replace now are welded. No problems to date. Jerry

Re: A couple oddball questions....

I put the full gage panel in my 71 last year but my truck had come originally with just the basic gauges. I just rewired each gauge individually and got eveything working the right way rather than buying a new harness. One afternoon and everythig was working.
