TBI Vortec Swap pics

Here are a few pics of my Uncle's 93 Silverado. Removed the worn used 350 he had installed a few years back (stock TBI motor). It had burned #3 exhaust valve and was generally worn.

I installed a stock 96 Vortec long block with the GMPP intake, stock TBI, 18psi regulator spring/high flow pump/and chip from TBIchips.com (highly recommended) also stuck in a 180 t-stat. Future upgrades include headers and new exhaust. It currently has true duals with no cats and some turbo mufflers.

Re: TBI Vortec Swap pics

So, hows it run? I bet it would really like a 454 throttle body.

Re: TBI Vortec Swap pics

Runs great. Headers and possibly a bored TBI are in its future. Just trying to get her back on the road right now. I had no problems on the 100 mile trip testing it and taking it home to my Uncle. Runs smooth and stong, and it is kinda fun to see it bury the needle on the speedo and not hit the fuel cut off.

Really impressed with the quiet smooth ride of those BFG tires also.
