Bed wood hole mapping

I plan on replacing my bed wood soon. I am in the process of pulling the old wood out. Do I need to map out the location of the bed-to-frame mounting holes? The kits I have seen don't look like they have holes drilled in them for these mounting holes. So I am thinking I need to make a template and drill the holes myself. What is your experience in this area?

A template never hurts, planning ahead always makes a job easier. I have always used the old piece I took out to mark my new holes.

Hey Tom,

I used MAR-K wood and it was pre-drilled for the bed to frame mounting, fit perfectly.

Good, I'm glad you got your wood thing figured out. Mar-k is a good company, there just up the road from me about 30-40 miles.

Re: Bed wood hole mapping

Mar-K seems to be a few bucks cheaper. I was looking at brothers and they charge a lot more for drilled mounting holes. Thanks for the input.
