Hilborn scoop, velocity stack or other?
So, the LS1 in my 63 is getting a Super victor intake, NX plate, dominator to 4150 reducer and a dominator TB. This set up should prove to be fairly tall. I was thinking about putting either a:
Veloctiy stack that sits level with the hood (obviously a hole in the hood) so it looked like a big hole or A hilborn style scoop sticking through the hood. I'm thinking the Hilborn is probably more period correct and would go well with the wrap around 63 windshield since that is a 50's sorta left over. Also think it would have more effect than a stack. I'm open to other ideas to suit the look of the truck.

I don't know.. this fit under the hood of my 66 with a 2" wood spacer under that Dominator ,,, and had at least 4-5" to spare to the hood.

Re: Hilborn scoop, velocity stack or other?
Trying to also get cold air to this..
This is not a Vic JR, but rather it's mean big brother the Super Victor. It's topped with a NX Shark SX2 Nozzle plate system. On top of that there is a dominator to 4150 adapter. Then there will be a dominator throttle body that is good for 2k cfm. I have no idea of how this set up is going to work. Could be a waste of time, but we'll see.. It needs a little touch up port work that I will do. Now I'm wondering if I want to top it with a velocity stack or a hilborn scoop that sticks out of the hood on the 63 pickup..

Re: Hilborn scoop, velocity stack or other?
I have always liked the looks of the now extinct "Steling & Hellings" air cleaner. To find & buy one today I have heard of ones in mint condition selling for over $600.... one of these air cleaners for sale on eBay recently had a bid of OVER $200 ....reserve was NOT met!!!! Ouch!!! Not a bad profit for an air cleaner that originally sold for under $20 back in the day.... ahhhhhh NOSTALGIA is KOOL but also EXPENSIVE.
