lowering truck

if I purchse 2.5" drop spindles and what I think they call a 4" flip kit in the rear, do I need custom shocks or can I stick to the regular length?

Re: lowering truck

I'm kind of waiting for an answer for this one too. You want do do exactly what I do. Are you considering 2.5 spindles and cutting yer coils for the front, and 4 inch flip kit and removal of a leaf or 2 for the rear?

I'm not sure yet, this is what I want to start with and go from there - I need to know so I can order the correct shocks- and the ones I want are kinda pricey! lol

Re: lowering truck

the flip kit is like 5 or 6 inches. if you want 4 inches in the back then go with shackles and hangers. i have a 2 1/2 spindle and the 4 inch shackle and hanger in the back. you are supposed to get different shocks for the rear but. i dont.

Re: lowering truck

The back needs shorter travel shocks. Only if you have shock extenders can you use stock shocks. Most kits come with extenders though- My DJM 5" came with them.

DJM- 5" flip

Beltech - 6" flip

Actually, when using a flip kit, the 5 or 6" drop is determined by the number of leafs the truck has in the spring pack. The greater number of leaves, the greater amount of drop (think of it as a built in lowering block).

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
