Headliner Installation

All, I have a headliner that came with the truck that was never installed. I dont want to mess it up. How far outside the template should I cut to tuck up on top of the template? I have new trim that will be installed around the edges. Any help would be appreciated. I want to try to get this done today.
Thanks,
Kerry
