Air bag Fitting help

hey guys, im buying my airbags and fittings for my truck

i am just going with schraders for now on each corner, but the problem is i need to know what i need for all the fittings and everything.

im going Air Bag It www.airbagit.com #2600 single ports on the front with 3/8" inlet

the rear Air Bag It www.airbagit.com #2500 single ports with 3/8" inlet


As well I am using FBI www.fbirides.com bag brackets
Front:

Rear:


on the whole system i need 90* elbows coming directly off the bag but after that i dont know what else i need to go to line then a schrader


any help is much appreciated!

I'm not sure what you're going to need to get from the lines to the schrader valves. What I can say is be very cautious about those bags. If you're going to use them inspect them regularly. I usually try to steer folks away from aim/chassis tech/airbagit. I used a set of those bags on my El Camino. Before it ever left my shop(less than a year) and without ever having more than 125psi the outer rubber tore away from the top plates. I still have them in my shop as a reminder. I know they're a little cheaper but it would suck to have one blow and leave you stranded. Sorry for the long reply, especially since it didn't answer your question You can PM Matt (spray-bomb), I know he used schraders on his truck so he should be able to give you some insight.

Especially when you can get slam specialties bags for 75 or less each from several locations...

im not 100% sure on airbags yet, ive just seen airbagits ads alot so I just looked to them as a first resort
i may just go for slam specialties

they got thicker sidewalls for less bounce and are bound a different way to prevent blowouts
but like i said not 100 % sure yet.

To answer your original question, you can use a PTC 90 out of the bag > to a short piece of soft line to a convenient location > to a male straight PTC > to a reducing bushing > to a schrader.

I can get a pic for you if you want.

PS: I think enough people have said it, but DONT buy those bags.

actually I would like to see this pic as well. I plan to do something similar until I get the money to the do the compressor and tanks.

Here are pics. There are different ways to do this. This is just what I had at the time.





Depending on what size line you are using, start with a 3/8" PTC elbow on bag. Run your line into a 3/8 male PTC. Then a 3/8 union. Then a 3/8 to 1/8 reducing bushing. Then your schrader. (I think the schrader is 1/8 or 1/4)

If by chance you are using 1/4" airline, you can eliminate both the union and reducing bushing by using this:

bowtieboy - what you posted would work well if you are traveling through metal, the only problem is the bushing through the metal has the airline fitting on both ends. You need the push fitting on the one end and a screw in fitting on the other end for your reducer bushing.

what do guys think about firestone bags? are slams' worth the extra $5?

I am going with the slams on my truck because of advise on here. They have internal bumpstops in case you lose air pressure. To me that's worth an extra 25 each, much less $5. Keeps the bag from self destructing if there's a leak....especially if you're not going to start off w/ a compressor. Imagine filling up and gong for a drive somewhere, going to leave and finding the bags completely deflated and not having a compressor to get the bags back up. With my understanding, you could limp home w/ the slams, but would be stuck w/ any others.
