1972 Emission Hose Routing

Can anyone send me a picture or a link to a diagram for the emission hose routing on a 72 C10 350-4 AT. I'm trying to get it inspected and while it is exempt from testing the Inspector wants all the hoses routed correctly, al thought I doubt he really know where they go. I have searched the archive and found nothing. It does have the TSC on it. The hoses I really need cleared up are the 5/32 hoses from the evap can to the Carb, TSC or where ever it goes and how the tsc is connect into the system.

if it is exempt from testing... then why is he making you do this?

He is being a male appendage. He's new at his job and his reasoning is that while it is exempt from all emission testing, all equipment must be in place and functioning. The only thing there is is hoses and that TSC valve and a evap container so its got to be connected right. I would have gone somewhere else but he got the inspection failure in the system so I have to fix it.

I hate to agree with some being a male appendage ( by the way!) but he is technicly right. No smog items are to be removed on any and all vehicles operated on a public road... per federeal law.
I wish I could give you some assistance, but all that crap has been removed off my 72.

One hose the 3/8 connects to the port at the PCV line with a "T" connector- it ties into the PCV system, the second smaller hose connects to the ported vac source located at the front of the carb roughly half way up next to the throttle arm/pump. The TCS takes vac from port vac advance hooks to lower right near mixture screw on pass side- should have short hose from this port to TCS module port located to the front, the top porton tcs connects to the port on the vac advance. The breather hose should attach to the far right vac port that points to the fender should be a long vac fitting located in middle of the choke assembly. If this needs pics let me know and I will try. Hope it helps.

My advice: Move to Oklahoma and never worry about inspections again!

You could probably just route the hoses to endless places. You could probably route the hoses from the canister around & back to themselves. You could also probably seal up the EGR valve to where its more or less, blocked off.

Oddly enough greywolf there is no EGR and he said nothing about it having to have one, he just saw the TSC was disconnected and the evap hose was broken off. I really don't think he knew what he was looking at and it would be my luck he'd look it up for my re-inspections. The truck is 10 years older than he is so I can't imagine he's seen alot of 72's.

But as longhornman says it is federal law that if it had it it needs to be present.

As for the EGR comment... these trucks never had them.

great thanks, i think I can figure it out with these. My repro book doesn't have half this stuff in it and the pictures are very dark
