Rally wheels
Are all Rally's like of this era the same? 15X8? These look kinda wimpy to me. I've heard the term "Deep Dish Rally", is that a different wheel? Will the thicker Chrome trim ring make these look better? thanks.

All I want is my truck to look something like this...
Is that asking too much?

The rallies came ....6 1/2" (van), 7", & 8 ". I have a set of 8" on the back of my 69, & 6 1/2" up front. The rears have a deeper ring from a Pontiac.... http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn & also 275/60/15 tires

Those look about right on the offset to be an 8"....I think they will be stamped 15x8 on the back side....

Those are 8inch rallies with the skinny trim rings that came on them in early 90's.I think the rings that came on the late 70' through mid 80's where about 3 inches deep and the the real deep ones you see are the 4 inch corvette ralley type. You can get those in aftermarket or GM but they are costly

I think I had the rings you guys are talking about on my old Jimmy (in the pic) and on my current 4x4 truck. The guy I bought them from said they were stainless steel...? Anyway, I think they look alot better than the skinny rings.

Where did you get, or how did you make your spinner caps?
I would like to do that to a set of 15 x 8s. Thanks, Scott |

Thanks for the info. I have all the parts but the spinner caps.
I guess the hunt for just the right part and right price is part of the fun with these trucks. I also keep toying with the idea of using 4x4 caps and add bearings to the spinners just to be different, but I doubt the livestock would really notice the extra effort. |
