brake check
Should I be able to see the wheel cylinder push the brake shoes without the drum on it?
Sounds like there is fluid going in it but they are not working. Well none of my brakes work. I just rebuilt the entire system several years ago and have not put many miles on it. It doesnt feel like any of the four drum brakes are working to stop the truck since lately. |

Re: brake check
Ya just have someone push the peddle and it "should" if everything is working correctly it will spread the pads out and springs will pull it back.
Have you tried to bleed the system and see if that helps? |

Re: brake check
I don't think you want to do that. I'm not sure on these trucks in particular but I know that on most cars/trucks you can over extend the wheel cylendar. The drum stops the Wheel cylendar from going too far. For the most part wheel cylinders either work or they leak.
