tailgate strip molding removal?
OK, I feel like an idiot, but how do you get this molding off intact? It's the piece between the left and right corner (1 & 2), the one not highlighted in this pic (apparently LMC doesn't sell it). I'd guess that you're supposed to use the tape if you need to replace.
Not the wide tailgate band, that's easy. Thanks- -Todd

Re: tailgate strip molding removal?
piano wire and 2 large diameter wooden dowels.
Drill a small hole cross-ways thru the center of the dowels and run the piano wire thru them tying off each end. Now take the 2 dowels in hand and place the piano wire at the top corner of the trim and with a slow careful sawing action, slowly saw between the trim and the body to cut thru the trim adhesive. Continue until your all the way across the tail gate. HOWEVER!! If your trim is held in place by items 3 or 4, then you will need to access them through the inside face of the tailgate to release them or if they're plastic just snap'em off and replace them when you replace the trim.
