Can I use this?
I'm swapping a 350/4l60 out of a 92 G20 van in to my 70 C10 that has 3 speed column and 250. Can I use the van steering column? Do I need a column from another truck or van. I have converted the C10 to ps already. Any help would be greatly appreicated

Re: Can I use this?
was this van the old style van, or the new style 'savanah/express' van?

Re: Can I use this?
Do a search and you'll see whats needed to use an older van tilt... you'll need to do that, plus, you'll have to enlarge the opening at the bottom of the dash so the fatter column would fit, then you'll need to figure out the elevctricals since the ignition switch is in the column, then there's the high beam plug, the windshield wiper and washer stuff... the turn signal will plug in with an adapter, then I'd wanna ditch the inflatable thingy in the steering wheel... not sure if you can just swap on an older wheel or not.
Personally, I'd just use the stock column, or a tilt/van tilt, and set the shifter up so you can't manually hold it in first gear. |
