Could use a hand....
Hey guys,
The last time i posted on here i was in the 67-72 forum when i was workin on a 68 c-10 that i had. Well college came and i had to get practical. Anyways, i have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500, and im just wondering about something. At idle, it seems to be making some very faint light smoke...it looks like it could be just water vapor...but even when its not rainy...75 and dry..and the truck is somewhat warmed up..? anyone ever seen or experienced this? |

Re: Could use a hand....
Some GM trucks with the 5.3L had problems with the PCV's causing blow by and smoke at start up. They would also use oil excessively. GM fixed this by coming up with a fixed orifice PCV. I installed one in my truck and excessive oil usage and smoke at start up went away.
www.mightyautoparts.com/pdf/articles/tt122.pdf You may want to check, your truck may already have one. I went to a GM dealer and ordered one. It was $8 or so, but you will never had to buy another PCV again (no movable parts to plug up, it's just a shell with a hole drilled in it.) *This could be your problem*
