Re: Tri-Pro's "Project GPW"
Ok, this is awsome!
First, you're putting in a full floor. I just bought one at Carlisle and am starting mine. Second you're a vendor in NJ. I didn't know there was a place I could drive to to get parts. I was wondering, if I came up to buy a couple of pieces I need, would it be possible to get a close-up look at this truck? I'm pretty much ok with doing my floor but it would be great if I could see a build up close.

Re: Tri-Pro's "Project GPW"
Not really. I've been out of the office for a week and I'm waiting on the new fuel tank to do the fuel system next. I may come in tomorrow and drill/grind out half a dozen more rivets to get that out of the way.
I did drill the frame for a bulkhead fitting and ran the rearend vent: ![]() |

The vent is stock; it just normally doesn't look that way. I'm sure it's to release air from the rotating gears cavitating and creating bubbles- but don't quote me. Last edited by jb4short; 09-01-2008 at 03:52 PM. |

Thats what it is for. Most newer vehicles just hang a piece of rubber hose attached up high instead of the old little metal check valve style. |

Re: Tri-Pro's "Project GPW"
I asked this WAY back in high school autoshop. The explaination given to me then was that the air captured inside the rear end (and inside the engine) will expand and contract because of temperature differences. This would blow out seals and cause leaks if there wasn't a vent of some sort. Same principle as the radiator cap except that holds a predetermined amount of pressure before it allows bypass.
