Throttle cable help
I have a 1970 and the PO installed a generic Auto zone throttle cable that attaches to the throttle assembly in the engine bay. The problem is it has failed twice (both times at night). It is a braided steel cable that fits into a fitting that is only held in by an allen screw you tighten against the cable. Is there an original cable that works better or something like a TV cable? Now that it's broken twice, the cable is too short and holds the gas pedal linkage so high the pedal pad won't hit it so i have to just push on the metal linkage and do so gingerly to make sure it doesn't come loose. Helps with the gas mileage but kills performance. I don't have any close ups of the set up i currently have but correct setups or recommendations would be appreciated (with pictures of course). Here's the engine at least. It has an edelbrock carb on there. I have to install a new bracket anyways to get the TV Cable hooked up for the T350 tranny. So bracket recommendations appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

Re: Throttle cable help
Any other setups out there that are out of chrome or billet that work well?

Re: Throttle cable help
Check out Jeg's and Summit for Lokar and other cable options.

Re: Throttle cable help
But i have heard of issues using that with an aftermarket carb and intake. I have an edelbrock which should be very similar to the quadrajet in linkage, but if i switch to another carb, i don't want to go out to get another cable/rod. Any universal option other than Lokar's 24"?
