Re: What's it worth (my '68)
hmm, maybe $1500 max since none of the work has been done on it yet. I don't think that is the original 327 either. Wrong style alternator, power steering, pulley's, belts, bumper, steering column, seats, repop tailgate you name it. Where's the heater and reverse lights? Just being open and honest here.
By the Way, they might say something about this ad if your not a subscriber ($25 a year) since you really need to be one to buy, sell and post WIW ads. If you want to sell some of that trim and hood though let me know, I'm in the market. Bring it over to Carlisle next month and ask more... never know

Re: What's it worth (my '68)
First off, it's not an ad, it's a question on what other C10 owners and enthusiasts think about what I've got, and whether it's worth turning around.
As far as the motor, no, it's not original, but who cares, nothing on the truck is original anyway, except the body. I converted the belt setup and added power steering from a '94 Firebird, along with the tranny. I never found much use for a heater when I was driving it. It was a fun truck, not a daily driver, particularly because it was getting about 7mpg. Fast as hell and fun, but not economical. I plan to put a smaller cam in it to make it affordable to drive. Perhaps an RV cam with better torque for the trailer. I restore cars for a living and my motto is if you get an old car that's all original, you stay original. But if it's not, go Hot Rod with it. I build invester cars (Camaro, Chevelle, etc...) but I really enjoy building cars that people want to drive, not sell for profit. |

Re: What's it worth (my '68)
I know that I can get a beater '68 Camaro with no motor, add about $35k worth of parts and labor and sell it for $50k or more, but C10's are a different market all together. I also know that if my truck was a longbed, it would be worth less than half of a shortbed in similar condition. I posted this just to get some feedback. If any of you posted the same question, I would give you my opinion on what I thought it was worth. But this is my truck, and that makes me impartial to give a realistic price or value.

Re: What's it worth (my '68)
What the hell does IBTL mean? As previously stated, I'M NOT SELLING! It's not for sale. The thought had crossed my mind, and before I go advertising it locally for some rediculous amount of money, I figured I'd trust the opinion of real C10 guys before crossing that bridge! I guess I was wrong. A few of you have spoken up and gave me an honest idea of what you think it is worth, and for those guys, Thankyou. I appreciate it very much. As for the ones who just want to shoot at me and my post, whatever.
