Armrests?
Can anyone tell me what is suposed to be inside the door to accept the screws for the armrests? I removed the door paneles and there are square holes no inserts, are these still available for a 1964 c 10?
 Checked lmc and couldnt find anything.

they are square nuts with a built in clip to hold them in the square hole you referred to.
sorry, i don't know of a source for them

I have the nuts on the drivers side but not on the passenger (though the holes are there). I think that's pretty common as a lot of these didn't have passenger arm rests.
My (simple) solution is going to be welding some nuts to the back of the panel. Easy easy! |

What you need is a couple of 1/4-20 cage nuts. I've gotten them at a fasteners supply store before. I'll look and see if I have some...

You can get the square nuts for securing the arm rests to the door from:
www.classicparts.com I have purchased and used them. They work well. I caution people from attaching the arm rests directly to the door panel, because they have a tendancy to "oil-can" when pulled on, to shut the door. www.classicheartbeat.com has them, too. They are listed as 67-72 Door Panel / Arm Rest Captured Nuts.

Thanks guys i picked up some cage nuts for the 64 door armrests ,on my 67 they are mounted on the outside,do these mount on the inside on a 64? I tried them on the outside and it seemed to be to far out?

The cage nuts are available at Classic Parts, about $.49 each.
