3 on the tree dipstick??
Do the 3 on the trees come with dipsticks??? I either don't have one or its extremely hidden.

No, the manual transmissions have a fill plug on the side that you remove to check the fluid level.. Take the plug out (with truck on level ground) and stick your pinky in.. when you remove said pinky there should be oil on it and that is considered full.

Don't get your pinky stuck!! I use a piece of wire. Better yet, if you aren't sure of the age of the oil drain it all and replace with new.

I'd second the drain and fill idea. It'll show you where the fill and drain plugs are, which means you'll both know that the right amount of lube is present, and that the lube is fresh.
