factory did that on some cars, they dimpled the tube more flat for clearance under the floor board, i know my 80 camaro is, along with my 70 chevelle, and every other pair of lead pipes i have in the gararge (probably close to 30 pairs of lead pipes for models)

Even the NOS 69 chevelle pipes i have, still have GM stickers on them, are somewhat flattened to clear the floor board.


As long as it doesn't inhibit the flow, meaning keeping the same amount of flow, i wouldn't see what it would hurt.
