Yea, the t-case by itself weighs a ton. In my 82 truck I have the 117mm 4spd with granny and the NP Transfer case that came with the trucks with no hubs. For a daily driver it's OK. I screwed up about a month ago and "gave away" a t-case that came out of an 81 blazer with an automatic that I had stripped down thinking that it wouldn't swap with my manual transmission. This would have been a direct backup for what I have.
