LS1 fans on a BB radiator

Is anyone running LS1 electric fans? How well does the shroud fit? How about LS1 fans on a 454 radiator?

I'm ready to ditch my current dual 14" fans. I need somewthing with a shroud. I could probably make my own shroud. However, I need special tools to bend aluminum metal sheets. I found some LS1 fans on craigslist for $40. I hope they are avaiable. I have another 1100 mile trip next week to challenge the ZZ4.

Good Luck

However, if you find that to be a problem, look at the dual electric fans that SPAL sells with their own shroud assemblies. Easy to mount and work great. I have two sets on my different trucks and have not had an overheating problem yet. Summit sells these under the "Be Cool" name. Dual 11" electric fan setup.

Re: LS1 fans on a BB radiator

Well, looks like BADBOW is going to get some LS1 fans!! My A/C blew a big cloud of R-134 yesterday. I turned off the A/C and took my Jimmy to work. I drove over to my A/C guytoday. He connects the gauges and pressure was good. We found oil over part of the engine and lines. The pressure switch behind the compressor did its job. I was dreading the worst. Replacing the new lines again. We found the lower fan was not running.

I found a set of LS1 fans on Craigslist for $40!! I'm meeting the guy at 6:45 AM to buy them. I'll spend most of the day install in them. I hope I don't need to drain the coolant. I'll snap a few pictures. I was thinking of upgrading my Jimmy to LS1 fans. Now BADBOW get's them first.

pcmcobra,
How old is the thread? Did you post the main topic?

I have some on my 77. All you need is a few custom brackets. I made some that let the fans sit in the lower shroud clips and bolt to the upper radiator support just like the stock shroud does. I also found a place on evilbay selling the correct weather pack pigtails to wire these in.

98-02 Camaros and Corvettes. At full power, they move a lot of air!
