Suburban Fuel Tank

Hi,
Got a question, will a 40 gallon fuel tank off a 88 suburban fit in a 78 suburban? Thanks, Tom

Re: Suburban Fuel Tank

I do not think there is enough of a difference between them... they both use the strap design and the only real difference may be the sending unit itself.

That or it's set up for a return line for fuel injection.

Re: Suburban Fuel Tank

Thanks for the info. I also heard that the filler neck is different. I'm going to go ahead and get the tank. The price is right and it's in great shape. I'm planning on getting a new sending unit, so I'm not worried about the fuel return line. Thanks again, Tom

Re: Suburban Fuel Tank

The filler neck usually has a rubber hose between it and the tank so that shouldn't be a big issue.
