Recommended Steel Wheel Paint??

got a set new set of 15 x 7's steelies for the '69 that I am going to paint after I get them cleaned properly.

does anyone have a paint in mind that they have used with good results? was it durable? any special procedures that can help with applications/durability? I heard Duplicolor makes a decent paint. Ideas. Oh yeah, going with a medium gray.

I was going to powdercoat, but we all know what happened the last time. and if I want to change the color later on, it's a lot easier to get paint off....

thanks gang.

Re: Recommended Steel Wheel Paint??

I used Duplicolor Hot Rod White on mine, and they look great. I sanded them with 220# grit and primed them because there was paint missing, sanded the primer with 400# grit, and put about 3 coats on them. They didn't when the tires were mounted, and they have even held up well after the caps have been on and off a few times.
