Re: Need hub Caps

If it is supposed to be a "restored to showroom look" truck those are the wrong wheels and they are the wrong wheels for the stock caps. Those look like mid 60's wheels but I may be mistaken.

You might check with http://www.rallyamerica.com/ and see if he has or can get the 47/53 style caps to fit those wheelse

One option might be to put baby moons on the truck and have someone stencil the Chevrolet logo on them.

Re: Need hub Caps

You might try the stovebolt site. They tend to lean more to the stock resto look. Most guys here customize the pick ups. I've seen that style hubcap on a similar looking wheel though. Maybe find an old one around at an antique shop and see if it fits. I have one in my garage for wall art, but I'm going to run a late 60's GM rally wheel on my 5 lug pattern. Nice resto BTW!

Re: Need hub Caps

This is the style of wheel that that particular hubcap fits.
Note the fingers in the center around the bolt holes that hold the hubcap.

This is a 15 that is in somewhat rough shape that came off a parts truck that I drug home sometime in the past 30 years. They also were made in 16 in. Most were tube type but I see that someone ran this one tubeless.

http://stovebolt.com/ This web site is more devoted to the trucks of that era and ours more to the '67-72 era even tho both welcome pretty much all old trucks, truck stuff, truck folks etc.

this is a good one too, good lookin truck by the way, Those wheels on the truck now look like the ones my 67 chevy half ton came with originally. the ones in that other picture with the tabs are the ones my 49 GMC came with exactly. with one GMC baby moon held on by the tabs

Re: Need hub Caps

Just out of curiosity and the fact that I have been thinking of using the later steelies on the 48 with small hubcaps I sent an email to http://hotrodhubcaps.com/chevy_hubcaps.html and Jeremy answered back today that their caps fit the later style wheels.

I'd measure the diameter of the circle of the bumps that the cap snapped over and send off an email to see if their caps will fit your wheels.

Their price isn't cheap but it beats the expense and trouble of getting another set of wheels (that may not run tubeless) Painting them and the expense of having the tires swapped over.
