I have searched for an answer but cannot find one. I got a new set of rubber cab bushings with my truck. So I want to give them a try. However they are a different thickness. Are they supposed to be? also Im sure they are not for the rad support. So can anyone please tell me if the thick ones go to the front or back of the cab. It is a complete frame off resto, so I would like to get this right before the doors and fenders go on.

Are you working on a 2 wd or 4 wd?

Welcome to the board... We could use a little more information (well a lot really...

) Good rule of thumb. If you ask a question, supply as much info on your truck as possible. Even if it doesn't seem relevant to the question you are asking there are a lot of variables on these old rigs. By the way, this is not a flame, just a heads up...

1/2 ton or 3/4 ton? Chevy or GMC? High hump or low hump? I'll take a stab at it with the limited info but it may not be relevant... The rear cab mounts on 3/4 ton frames are mounted lower on the frame, so the rubber mounts are thicker. The front ones are the same, 3/4 & 1/2. If your frame is a 3/4 ton those would work, if not you will have to get a set for a 1/2 ton frame... Maybe..

i believe that the thicker mounts should be in the rear no matter what it is because of the design of the floor.

Thanks for the replies and welcome. It is a 2wd, 1/2 ton. I converted the trany hump to the higher bolt in so it clears the tranny. When I look at the instructions for the energy suspension bushings there is different part # to use for the front or back bushing. For that matter, I have looked at the various part catalogue pictures but cannot figure out where the thicker ones are supposed to go. The problem is that the ones I have, came free with the truck, with no instructions. I suspect that if someone out-there has replaced theirs then they would be able to tell me if the bushings are supposed to be a different size and location.
