Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

I have one on the 402 based block in my Jeep. Works well.

I bought mine from the local dealership, who price matched what I found on ebay!

Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

That's good to hear Grendel, that it does work well. Does anybody know if a long pump will fit? Can radiator be relocated enought toaccept this system? Are elec fans and no regular fan and clutch possable?

thanks for any input/Stoney

Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

I just went into the local dealer and had him give me the breakdown of parts for a 97 3500 series truck with a 454. The brackets are all there and the exploded view helps you to identify what goes where. I paid like $100 for everything (two brackets at about $50 a piece) the idler pulleys etc, I got at NAPA. Works with a reverse flow long pump and fits perfectly. You just buy the parts for a 2wd 3500 w/454 and all the sepentine stuff bolts right up. You can get an AC delete or use a compressor for the 97. Works excellent. Good Luck.

Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

I see this is an old thread. Pace seemed to have discontinued this part. Summit has the kit for $785. This kit comes with everything. Water pump, powersteering pump, Alt and all the nessesary hardware to bolt it up. The A/C compressor is included also. If you dont want A/C just order the other kit without it. I think it is $599.. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=NAL-12498733 With A/C

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku without A/C

Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

I have a serp.system on my SBC that I got for $160. All you need to do is find someone who is parting out an '88 or later Astro or S10 with the 4.3 V6- All the brackets and waterpump bolt right up. You may need to get a smog pump delete idler @ Napa and an AC delete pulley from GM (if you don't want to run the AC compressor). I did have to get the delete pulley's that's why it was $160....other wise it would have been less than $100.

Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

Anyone know if there is a serp system in existence for a BBC that utilizes a short water pump? I would love to use one, but im not willing to swap out my $$$ electric fan setup.

is your pulley that close to your fan's that you can't use a long pump? The kit comes with everything..

Yeah. I ended up selling all my LWP stuff.

Sorry to bring back a dead thread, but I was wondering if anyone else had an idea before I start buying parts.

Re: GM Performance 12498733 serpentine kit

I asked the same question previously and some guys posted pics of this set up. It is way too close for my taste. I am going to go with a swp set up despite the cost.
