Re: A/C brackets???

Its the same bracket as the 250 if you are going to run the Harrison pump if you want to run a Sanden pump you need to find a (YEAR ONE CATALOG) conversion kit. Buy the one for the Mid 70 truck with passenger side high installation. It works with the power steering setup installed on the driver side. If you want to run a A-6 pump you need to find a car and remove the setup... Usually on a Nova with a inline six 250,,,,,, BUT the block has to have the mounting bolt holes at the bottom of the block.... to mount the support brackets. You could probably rig something up for support if the correct mounting hioles were not availiable.

I have three inline 250 engine here one is in my 1971 C-10 Chevy the other two are in my Garage (Its a mess!!!) They all have different mounting setups. I have three A/C compressor setups "AND NO I DONT WANT TO SELL EITHER ONE" but I will try and get you pictures of them all.... It probably wont be until Sunday.....

I got a couple sets, you see them on ebay from time to time. Just check out the LMC catalog, they are illustrated pretty good there.

What compressor are you using? Also when I stuck my brackets on my block it didn't seem to have enuff room for a hei dizzy. What type of dizzy are you going to use. Also what type of pullies do you need to use to run a/c and power steering?

Re: A/C brackets???

One thing with the sanden I was told they will not work fith the factory style a/c brackets and have to use a set up similar to what vintage Air and Old Air run. This is due to the size and weight differences between OEM and the Sanden

Re: A/C brackets???

Here are some pictures of a Sanden Compressor pump setup which could be mounted to a 250 or a 292 inline six cylinder engine. This is a 250 engine which I am showing you in the picture. But they are the same head bolt pattern the only difference would be make the extention of the front metal piece which bolts to the water outlet housing bracket.... You know the 292 engine has a taller deck than the 250...

Re: A/C brackets???

This Sanden pump setup will work with a HEI setup or a point distributor. Will post other picture of the two other setups tomorrow.

To use a HEI dizzy with the factory A/C brackets you need an external coil like this one

Re: A/C brackets???

Here are a few pictures of another A/C Delco A-6 radial compressor V-belt setup. These are some picture with the same block as above. The Sanden pump bracket could be duplicated and made to work with a 292 block,,,,, where this one is for only a 250 block.

This A/C setup will also work with an HEI distributor.

Re: A/C brackets???

Just sent you a PM with this link:

http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalo...oducts_id=3463

they say it is for a 250 though. My 250 bracket worked fine with I put in the new engine with a 292 head, mine of completely home made though, I can't wait to upgrade to the one above from Old Air.

regarding the HEI, there are two distributor caps, you want to make sure you get the one with the EXTERNAL coil, it will look like the oil points set up but it is HEI. The Integrated coil in the cap can get in the way, or at least make it a royal pain, I couldn't use the integrated cap with my bracket.

Here's a pic of mine:

Note: My new '69 block does not have this lower mounting hole:
