2nd Battery install???
I have a 2002 Chevy 2500 and need to install a 2nd battery for my camper.
Where do I locate it? It seems the only place would be next to the firewall on the passenger side behind the radiator overflow jug. There is a major support bracket there. Can I just remove that support or is it VERY important? I plan on putting in a solenoid to isolate the batteries so I don't kill them both when camping but will be able to charge them both when driving. Any other ideas or clues as to how to do this. Thanks Schmoky |

Re: 2nd Battery install???
I have done that on a couple different trucks. Use the GM Diesel solenoid, that truck runs two batteries. You can put the battery on the passenger firewall with the Diesel bracket, or put in the the bed of your truck in one of the front corners (secure it of course). The solenoid is only $50 at the dealer, then your truck will charge the battery too. I hope that helps.

Re: 2nd Battery install???
Oh ya. The solenoid can mount anywhere. It is easiest to mount to the firewall and should only take an hour or less to wire in. Use 0 or 4 gauge wire to your batteries.
