It ain't even funny anymore! I'm currently insuring the '67 C-30, '69 C-30 ramp truck, '69 red C-10, '69 blue beater truck, 2000 Z71, '71 Pontiac GT-37, the wife's Malibu, and the '67 C-50 Wrecker (which is supposed to be sold this weekend - we'll see) so I'll be at 7 if that happens. When I get the Blazer going I will be back up to 8, so I'm going to try my best to stop there!

Re: Change of Altitude & Attitude! New wheel pics...

Every time I think about buying some new bling rims, I see something great like this. I picked up my caps 20 years ago and I still love the look. I wish I could have found some that were 68 . Instead, I bought the cheapest Chevy truck caps I could find (like the ones you had on the front)and painted them white with black and red details. After I painted the truck, I was going to repaint them to match the grill and bumper, but I had been driving around with hand-painted white caps for so long that I couldn't change the look, and they really inidicate the true character of my old truck.

I love the look you got going with ALL of your trucks.

Re: Change of Altitude & Attitude! New wheel pics...

I put the wheel spacers on this weekend and painted the gold mirrors white. It has more of the wide 'n skinny look I hoping for. My little assistant helped me bolt the wheels back on.

Re: Change of Altitude & Attitude! New wheel pics...

I actually thought the rears were tucked in nicely before and fronts could stand to be brought out a bit to line up with the rears.
But hey, I still love it.

I think you might be right. I drove it to work today and my brother and I were talking about maybe that the rears were sticking out too much now. I may throw them on the front and see what it looks like. I just ordered some shorter tires for the front to get it a lower. I'm planning on dropping the rear a little more to match, and think the rears will look better tucked than the way they are now.

Re: Change of Altitude & Attitude! New wheel pics...

How thick are those spacers? It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the fronts could come out about an inch???
What size tires did you order?
I like your mentality of trying different things to get the look dialed in. Seems alot of times people just throw stuff together and call it good.

The spacers are 1.5". I ordered 215/70R15 and they are 235/75R15's now. The ones on the front are almost 29" and the 215's are supposed to be around between 26.5 - 27". This should drop the front a little over an inch. The fronts are almost an inch taller than the 275/60 rears now, so I think the shorter tires will help the look of it. I would love to get it down another 1 - 1.5" all the way around.

Re: Change of Altitude & Attitude! New wheel pics...

BTW, could you measure the hieght of your wheel openings front and rear for me? I am going for around the look of a 4/6 drop, and I love how your blue truck sits. I'm at 29" front and 30" rear now and I'm wondering how far off I am.

That sounds like a good choice on size. I can't wait to see an updated pic when you get them.

Since I posted right after you last night I didn't see your question until just now, sorry about that. My front is 27 1/4'' and my rear is 28 1/4''. I'm on the same 275/60's as you on the rear and 245/60's on 15x6.5's on the front. The Tire Rack lists BFG Radial T/A's as being 26.6'' tall. Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris! I guess that means I'm at about a 2/4 drop now. It was like 32" and 34" stock, so I thought I was at around what a 3/5 would be. I guess I'll leave the front suspension alone and shoot for 28" with the tire change on front and drop the rear to 29" since I'm not running drop spindles.

No, I haven't yet. I was going to do it when I get the new tires put on the rims, but it hasn't happened yet!

I converted it to leafs ,flipped it , In the front I cut the spring pockets and lowered them and then cut the coils till I thought it looked right . It bottoms out on the big bumps but not to bad and overall rides decent. Bob
