Parallel 4-link questions

I'm planning on running a parallel 4-link with the frame I'm building for my truck. The frame rails are 30 inches to the outside and 26 on the inside. This leaves about 21 inches from the outside of the frame rails to the bedside on each side. Right now I'm gonna run about a 10 inch wide tire, but I want to be able to run a wider tire, maybe a 15 inche wide tire in the future. How could I set this up for it to work, I still want good cornering, don't know if it would work putting the bags between the rail or right under the rails.

Re: Parallel 4-link questions

It sounds as though you're building a one-off custom that will lay frame on bags-no? If that's the case you may want to consider a bad-a$$ IRS setup like is shown in the link. They're available with coil overs or bags for that layed-out look.

Re: Parallel 4-link questions

I don't think I want an IRS. I would like to know though if the 4-link bars need to be run on the outside of the frame, I would think so and same for the bags?

Re: Parallel 4-link questions

IMO it would be best to run a triangulated 4link with bags on bars for a softer ride and better handling and there will be no need for a panhard bar with that setup vs with a parallel setup.

Re: Parallel 4-link questions

I was told I should go with the parallel running 500 to 600 hp... maybe I'll design a watts link if I don't go with the panhard bar.

Re: Parallel 4-link questions

Sounds like I'll just be able to fit these wheels or change it all to a triangulated 4-link
