WTB: Drop spindles, radiator, other parts for '72 C10

Got the cab and doors I needed, but here's the list of stuff I'm still looking for, to be augmented as I dig in deeper and discover more stuff I need:
  1. Drop spindles for '71-72
  2. Good heavy duty radiator (factory style or aftermarket)
  3. Engine crossmember (may or may not actually need -- noticed last night while disassembling the front end that BIG chunks of rusty scale were coming off it under the upper A-arms).
  4. Anything else you may notice I need based on my build thread (link below)
  5. Good used welder (e.g. Hobart 140, Millermatic 180, something along those lines)

Thanks a bunch,
Brent

I've got a great cab, but it looks like it's a little to far away for you.....

Re: WTB: Good cab, other parts for '72 C10

I was at a junk yard about two weeks ago in French Lake, MN which is about 2 hours north of you and picked up a pair of very clean doors and at that time had another pair of doors that looked really good but had speaker holes cut in them. They had alot of 67-72 trucks and parts there and might be worth a try, I have picked up some pretty nice stuff and the prices where fair.

In terms of time, money and my utter lack of experience with welding and bodywork I think option #3 is my best bet ... but here in southern Minnesota a solid cab isn't exactly easy to find. Thought I'd give it a shot this way since I've had no luck with any other route.

So here's the list of what I'm looking for, to be augmented as I dig in deeper and discover more stuff I need:
  1. Solid cab -- rust-free or as close to it as possible. Must be able to get it to within 150 miles of Mankato, MN since I'll have to beg, borrow or steal someone else's truck to transport it to my house.
  2. Drop spindles for '71-72
  3. Engine crossmember (may or may not actually need -- noticed last night while disassembling the front end that BIG chunks of rusty scale were coming off it under the upper A-arms).
  4. Solid '72 doors (don't want '67-71) either used or repro (if you're giving up on your project instead of giving in to the insanity like me)
  5. Anything else you may notice I need based on my build thread (link below)
  6. Good used welder (e.g. Hobart 140, Millermatic 180, something along those lines)

Thanks a bunch,
Brent

Brent,

Head west...the Dakotas are full of rust free stuff, as is eastern Montana. I was out there last year and was dying that I didn't have a car hauler with me.

Yup! Thanks, Bryan. Now I just need to find someone to help get it down to Mankato for me. My go-to guy is busy Sunday and I'm waiting to hear if maybe Saturday would work for him. (He runs an ice company and has to deliver ice machines & ice to the county fair in Albert Lea on Sunday. I volunteered a day's labor on Sunday in exchange for help Saturday -- I'll let you know.)

Re: WTB: Good cab, other parts for '72 C10

Just got the cab delivered by Bryan and wanted to let everyone know what a helluva good guy he is to deal with. Called me this morning and offered to deliver the cab to me (more than 100 miles each way) to save me the trouble of finding a truck to borrow. Cab is just like he described it and even got a fender thrown in that I wasn't expecting. Just a terrific buying experience. Thanks again, Bryan!

I'm still looking for the other stuff, however.
