Heater core flow?
Well I live in Mississippi and it's smokin hot here these days. But I still love cruisin in my K5... no top, no a/c & all. However, even with the heater off it still blows some hot air out the vents. I had a Chevelle that did the same thing & my Daddy installed a inline shutoff valve in the hose going to the heater core. So I thought I would do the same thing on this "Bucket of Bolts". But I can't remember if he put it in the top or bottom hose of the core. Which direction does the water flow through the core - in the top then out the bottom OR in the bottom & out the top?

Depends if your core is installed right side up or upside down...
The sure way is to install it in the smaller (5/8") hose- it is the supply.

it wouldn't matter which one you capped off, if the coolant can't get through, then it can't get through. Same mind set as the hot water in the shower, the water is cold at first, till you flush all the cold water out of the pipes.
