250-6
My truck has the 250-6 with the integrated head. Currently the motor is running great with no issues at all. I understand the “Integrated Head” is prone to cracking and the motor I have now is a reman. I have no idea how many miles are on it or if the head is original or a reman . The PO was no help in gaining any knowledge about the motor.
I understand the older 250 heads will swap onto my motor, any of you guys been through that swap? I’m not going to mess with it until I have a problem but I’d like to start gathering parts. I’m also kicking around maybe just going with a big block but the 6 is different and would be cool all Offenhauser’d up. LOL.

Re: 250-6
As long as you take good care of it, it will take care of you...
If you let it run too hot, it can crack real easy. If you run it hot on a continual basis, then it will give you problems. Flush and fill the anti-freeze every year change the oil every 3 months/3000 miles and it will give you years of great service. |
