okay, never really posted any of my projects with the truck before, but here is one i just got done doing. tore the whole front end off the truck to put new inner fenders, core support, battery box, referbished grille assembly, and heater core in it, along the way i used new hardware and painted some pieces here are there like the vertical support for the grille, hood latch, inner fender support for the drivers side, painted most of the firewall. regreased/oiled all of the wiper arm joints, restored the heater box assembly and put all new gaskets and a new blower motor in it. new side markers and parking lamps lenses, with new parking lamp assembly's. the inner fenders and core were rusted real bad.

i bought all the parts through truck shop and the truck and car shop, my feelings on these peices:

inners - construction seemed fine, but they wouldnt fit up with the fender holes worth a darn, had to drill out the holes in the inner's and fenders to about 1/2 holes, they however mated up nice to the 3 holes in the core without any drilling
core - nothing like new metal, but i was hoping for it to be made out of slighty thicker sheet metal, i feel like it was thinner than original, had to clearance a small area near the top passenger side of the radiator so the rad wouldnt rub against the core, no biggy. also these cores are made for v-8 rad's so be warned you 6 cyl. guys, all you would have to do would be too move the lower rad mount over to the 6cyl. position, but they spot welded them in
bat box - nicely made from thick gauge steel, very tough, needed no drilling to make fit but did take some persuasion, might have been the core holes not perfect as well

other than that i am happy to have rust free sheetmetal on some of the truck. Here is the reason why i changed grilles, the PO painted it black which couldnt stand, so i refurbished a used grille and repainted the inner using detail silver from Eastwood

I plan on getting some chrome bumpers in the future, which should help its appearance alot, these bumpers are pretty bent up and ugly

Looks good, it doesn't take much to make a big difference to one of these trucks.
