If I'm not mistaken, I think it should bolt up, same as if it were bolting to a 700R4 or TH350/400. When I was researching putting a solid front axle in my truck (for the price my IFS lift cost, I really really should have) and one of the things discussed was using an NP205 (or really any other t-case which outputs on the passenger side) for the passenger side pumpkin on axles, and I believe they mentioned just dropping the NV2.. (246, and the other one, 236? or something) t-case and bolting the NP205/203/208 up. So yeah, it should bolt right up.

As for the shifter, I'm not sure if anybody makes a kit. I don't know how hard it would be to modify/fabricate the shifter to come over to the drivers side, like the newer ones do. Hope this helps.
