I've got a 450HP 396BBC, what would be a good carb for this? I thought maybe a quadrajet, but don't know the minimum size. I would like a good street carb with electric choke and something I don't have to adjust alot. Thanks in advance for any tips. What are ya'll using-name brand, part numbers, etc would help.

peak rpm of the cam or point of shift will help alot..

I have enough for both street and strip, maybe I'll go with the Edelbrock AVS 800.

You could go with a quad but electric chokes all hell if they are'nt right and thats all of them ,Why not just put a manual choke on it,you could put it under the dash where you can't see it if you wanted to,but to get your power out of it its a 4 corner carb that has to be worked on a little,BG demon, Holley

Yeah that should be plenty his cam specs were real streetable,but its still gonna like the pumps,I think they said stock converter which I would not do just to keep it from loading up in traffic!

I've got a 2800-3200 stall in a HD th400. So a 650 double pumper is plenty??? I thought I would have to go larger.

Mind you, I have head a little head work done(cast) and the crank shaved .010~~ 1.71 roller tip rockers, Edelbrock RPM air gap intake and .30 over on the 396(402)

You should be,but you have to tune them a little but you can jet it up as you need.You could call holley to see what cfm they recomend you also need to figure your VE percent out
