I picked up the tool at the store and had it fixed up in about 5 minutes.

Im not sure of the brand but it was a lock plate removal tool from the local parts store...around $20.

That might be the way to go if you only plan to use it once...as with most things from HF. Im not saying dont shop at HF because I do it myself for piddly things.

Of course after I get the lever in and get the column back together I cant get my stock one out!!! The bolt just inside the engine side of the firewall connecting the int. shaft just will not come out! I got the nut off easy enough but the bolt just wont budge. The head is perfectly round so I tried tapping it out from the back with no luck and it only rotates like 15 degrees.

I have a column as well as I want to work on. Could you give more information on the tool? I have O'Reiley and Auto Zone in my area. Should they know what I'm looking for if I ask for a lock plate removal tool?
