Re: What did u do to your beds?

The bed on my 77 was in great shape and the paint was nice. I wanted the ability to haul an ice chest, chairs, etc when I go cruisin. I didn't think a spray in liner would look right so I went with a rubber bed mat. It protects the bed, doesn't allow things to slide around, and like nice without drawing attention to itself.

Re: What did u do to your beds?

This probably isn't what your looking for, but it is different.

I'm planning on painting my truck next spring/summer. When the bed is off, I'm taking it apart and redoing the floor and headboard with 1/4" diamond plate steel. I'll be incorperating flush mount tie downs and lights in the sides of the bed too (so I've got more light than just the standard cargo light). I've also thought about incorperating some sort of trunk (similar to a honda ridgeline), but I'm guessing that it will be enough asspain without that. Then after all that will come the LineX.

Not on this truck but on my last truck my dad got a hold of some horse trailer rubber for free and gave it to me. It’s like 5/8” or 3/4” thick and come in 4’X8’ sheets. I have no idea how much it cost but it really protects the bed.

I have a rubber mat in my bed. I got it from LMC for $79. It fits great & even has the cutouts for dual tanks.

I have one of these also in my 87. I haul loads of scrap steel, and have yet to damage it.

Re: What did u do to your beds?

I made mine out of wood. It also has hinges at the front of the bed floor so I can get at the suspension and brakes easily. So for the heaviest load was 836 lbs of lasts years used up parts goin to the scrapper. I also have a rubber mat to lay over it when needed.
