project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
I have been gettin on yall's nerves and boasting my oppinions long enough. Now Im gunna start a slow build of my own dream truck.
Free 67 C30 for cab and front clip $600 2wd SWB frame and a step side bed The plan, retro build of a already old truck. Meaning im going to use styling ques from older vehicles, some minor body mods and splash on some old skool flavor. Ill start with the frame mods for bags c notch ect. Once thats done and painted Ill roll it out and bring in body parts. Ill be doing the work my self in a tiny garage. so it will take time. I encourage sugestions comments and even some ridicule. Ill post progress as it comes, but there are some little secrets. |

Encouragement:
Looks like a good start. Good luck with your project! Ridicule: What kind of person would un-dually a '67 C-30??? SICKO!!! Suggestion: You could always use the stepside fenders on a fleetside bed and bag the C-30!!!

Re: project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
Thanks guys
-67C30 the C30 rolling chassis will be available to members of this forum as well as the C30 fender badges. I cant bring myself to send it to the scrap yard if someone wants or needs any of it. I would prefer to trade or barter for stuff ill need or at least give it away to someone who wants it -pipsC10 its in awesome shape! the only real flaw in the whole thing even the a-arm crossmember is some minor pitting of the frame rail right where the original rear spring cups used to be. Utah salts the roads WAY too much so finding this frame in this condition is rare. Other areas tha get bashed up are the front frame horns and the rear where the bumpers bolt on. This frame is perfect. I live in the country where bottoming out the a-arm crossmember isnt a hard thing to do even on a stock hight truck this one is clean and dent free. Im realy exited about this build. I never would have dreamed to find these parts in such great shape. The worst thing I have to work with is the bed but even that is in alot better condition than some I have looked at, or owned. |

It is so nice when you can find good sheet metal because trust me it is not cheap to repair rust Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
I'd like to ahead and put DIBS on those fender emblems when you get them off if they are decent. I could use a pair if rechromeable ones for my '67.

I wouldn't mind having those C30 emblems when you get them off. Just PM me with pics after you do.

Re: project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
Ok Im looking for oppinions. I want to bag this truck so suspention and c-notch are what Im looking at. both front and rear. I would like to go with something other than the trailing arms on the rear, perhaps a tirangulated 4 link. All I really want to know is what you have used and your oppinion of the product. One more thing is I didnt get the trans or trailing arm crossmembers.
Also I must be "search" stupid because I cant find the thread about 89+ 6 lug rotors for disk swap. I want to stay 6 lug and the "kits" I have looked at are rather expencive. However I may have to piece it toghether buying parts of the "kit" as money allows. I have the garage cleaned up and the frame inside ready to start working on it. Thanks guys. |

Re: project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
OK so nobody wants to help a guy out?
I just dont know what I need to get what I want from these trucks. I do know I want to bag it. I will be running about 30" tires rear and 25-28" front on 15" wheels, I want to go as low as I can with the stock front crossmember. Being able to lay it (crossmember) on the ground would be good enough. Ride hight at 3-4". I dont want any of the body to touch the ground. So what do I need as far as rear frame notch front a-arms spindles ect. I have lowered a few vehicles but not done a complete air ride to one. Closest I have come to that is changing out rear bags on a newer dually. |

Re: project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
Sorry, it's late and I don't feel like typing much. You can find all the info for bagging in the suspension section. Lots of good stuff there!

Re: project SLOW DOWN C30 to C10
This truck is on hold now thanks to my 61.
It may change to a K10 build now as well. Not to worry though it wont get thrashed as a 4x4. It will probably be a glory hound once I get to it. Im in the process of selling off other trucks and stuff to fund these.
